Low-Emission Zone Utrecht (Netherlands)

Utrecht (Province Utrecht):
The inner city of Utrecht is a low emission zone. Only non-diesel vehicles or diesel vehicles with min. EURO 4 norm are allowed to enter. As an alternative, there are many P + R options available to reach the city center.

• Licence plate registration

• passenger cars, delivery vans, trucks

Diesel min. EURO-6

• from 1/1/2022 - only for trucks and buses

Oldtimers (40+ years)

• oldtimers receive an exemption

Campers & Motorhomes

• exemption possible for residents living inside of the LEZ

Other Exceptions

• vehicles for special purposes (see link)

notes:

• the LEZ area is monitored by a camera system and random inspection from traffic police
• There is no need to register in advance for foreign vehicles
• The fine for violating the LEZ rules is €100 (passenger cars and vans)
