Low-Emission Zone Stuttgart (Germany)

Stuttgart (Baden-Württemberg):
The entire city of Stuttgart is the low emission zone (motorways excluded). Only cars labelled with a sticker are allowed to enter the area. Since 2019 the diesel cars with Euro IV norm are banned. Since 2020 there are local driving bans for Euro V diesel cars.

Exempted roads

  • parts of Hafenbahnstraße, Heerstraße, Mittlere Filderstraße, Neuhauser Straße (along A8), parts of B10 and B27a. Start the LEZ Route Planner to take the exempted roads into account when driving.

notes:

  • all vehicles (including EV, gas, hydrogen or foreign) entering the LEZ need to have a visible sticker
  • the penalty for enetring a LEZ without a sticker is €80 + an administrative fee around €25
  • the common framework for the german LEZs is regulated by the national laws 35. BImSchV and 39. BImSchV
  • also older diesel vehicles can obtain the green sticker by installing the certificated retrofit kit
