The inner city of Munich has now tightened its low emission standards to minimum Euro 5 diesel, including also The "Mittlerer Ring".   • Munich has expanded its low emission zone to include Mittlerer Ring, now only allowing minimum Euro 5 diesel vehicles.

Oldtimers (30+ years)

  • H-licence plate or oldtimer certificate

Campers & Motorhomes

  • no exemptions, only residents can apply

Other exemptions

  • the following types are in general exempted from the LEZ: oldtimers, military vehicles, motorcycles, ambulance and emergency vehicles, work machines, vehicles driven by/or carrying disabled persons

notes:

  • all vehicles (including EV, gas, hydrogen or foreign) entering the LEZ need to have a visible sticker
  • the penalty for enetring a LEZ without a sticker is €80 + an administrative fee around €25
  • the common framework for the german LEZs is regulated by the national laws 35. BImSchV and 39. BImSchV
  • also older diesel vehicles can obtain the green sticker by installing the certificated retrofit kit
