Low-Emission Zone Milan (Italy)

Milan (Lombardy Region):
Milan uses multiple instruments to lower the air pollution. Almost the 72% of the entire municipal terrirory is assigned to the AREA B affecting the most poluting vehicles. In addition, entering the city center (AREA C) is charged by a congestion charge.

Oldtimers (30+ years)

  • vehicles with the oldtimer certificate have 25 days/year exemption. From 1 June 2020 it applies also for historical vehicles older than 20 years. 40+ years oldtimers are not restricted, only licence plate registration is needed

Campers & Motorhomes

  • no exemptions

Other exemptions

  • standard amount of exemption days after registration pro year: 25 for residents and businesses with headquarters in Milan, 25 for historic vehicles, 5 for all others
