Low-Emission Zone Madrid (Spain)

Madrid (The capital city):
Madrid is taking measures to gradually restrict access to the most polluting passenger cars, classified as DGT-A. From 13 September 2021, the city has implemented a citywide Low Emission Zone plan, with subsequent deployment phases until 2025. From 1 January 2023, access and circulation within the M-30, including the M-30 itself, is regulated. By 2024, the zone will cover the entire municipality. Residents have been given a grace period until 2025 to comply with the new regulations, including owners of vehicles other than passenger cars. Madrid has also set up two additional zones: the Distro Centro, which will also apply to newer vehicles, and the heavily congested Plaza Elíptica (DGT-0 category).
