Lyon (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes):
The Métropole de Lyon has set ambitious targets for clean mobility by 2026. The Low Emission Zone (ZFE) was introduced on 1 September 2022. The zone covers several communes, but the rules of the ZFE do not apply to major roads such as the M6-M7, the North ring road and the Laurent Bonnevay ring road. From 1 January 2023, vehicles with Crit'air 5 stickers and unclassified will be banned from the ZFE. In addition, heavy goods vehicles and light commercial vehicles with Crit'air 5, 4 and 3 stickers or unclassified are already excluded from the ZFE. There are discussions to further expand the plan and ban Crit'air 2 Category cars from the entire zone by January 1, 2026, effectively eliminating diesel passenger cars from the criculation.
