Low-Emission Zone Glasgow (Great Britain)

Glasgow (Scotland):
Glasgow City Council has extended a Low Emission Zone to all vehicles from May 2022. The aim of the LEZ is to improve air quality in the city centre. Those living in the zone now have 2 years to comply with the zone standards. Others living outside the zone will have to comply with LEZ standards from 1 June 2023. After this date, drivers that do not meet the required standards for exhaust emissions will be subject to a penalty charge.

notes:

• the LEZ area will be monitored by Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras (ANPR)
• the enforcement of the LEZ will start on 1 June 2023, for residents within the zone on 1 June 2024
• the LEZ restrictions apply also to foreign vehicles
• Only cars that meet or exceed the vehicle emission criteria are permitted to operate inside the LEZ
• The initial penalty charge is set at £60.
