Low-Emission Zone Barcelona (Spain)

Barcelona ():
The inner city of Barcelona is the low emission zone. Only road vehicles with DGT label are allowed to enter this area. Foreign visitors have to register their vehicles via an online tool. The most polluting vehicles can obtain the single-day permit.

  • min. EURO-3 (gasoline) or EURO-4/5 (diesel)

Single-day permit (max 10x/year)

  • vehicles with lower or no EURO-norm

Oldtimers

  • to drive in the ZBE, request a single-day permit

Campers & Motorhomes

  • no exemptions, in case request a single-day permit

Vehicles affected

  • LEZ apply to L (moped) M1 (car) and N1 (lorry) categories. From 2022 also to N2, N3 (HGV) and M3 (Bus)

notes:

  • also motorcycles and mopeds manufactured before the EURO-2 norm are banned
  • the LEZ area is monitored by a camera system connected to different databases
  • foreign vehicles have to register before entering the LEZ
  • a single-day permit can be activated up until 11.59p.m. on the day before
  • the penalty vary between 240-1800€ (depending on whether it is a minor, serious or very serious offence)
