Low-Emission Zone Amsterdam (Netherlands)

Amsterdam (Province of North Holland):
Only non-diesel vehicles or diesel vehicles with min. EURO 4 norm are allowed to enter the low-emission zone. The ring A10 is not included. As an alternative, there are P + R options available to reach the city center. The rules for dutch enviromental zones also apply to foreign vehicles but no registration is needed.

  • from 1/1/2022 - only for lorries, trucks and bus

  • exemptions only for residents or campsite visitors, see link below how to apply

Other exemption

notes:

  • the LEZ area is monitored by a camera system and random inspection from traffic police
  • adding a particulate filter to a vehicle with emission class 3 or lower does not affect access to the environmental zone
  • a green sticker for environmental zones in Germany also does not mean that the vehicle meets the emission class 4 requirement in the Netherlands
  • The fine is €100 (for car). This fine is imposed by the CJIB, see www.cjib.nl
