Low-Emission Zone Aberdeen (Great Britain)

Aberdeen (Scotland):
Aberdeen City Council has introduced a Low Emission Zone in May 2022. Motorists will have 2 years to comply with the zone's standards. The aim of the LEZ is to improve air quality in the city centre. After 1 July 2024, the registered keeper of a vehicle that does not meet the exhaust emission standards will be fined if the vehicle is driven within the Aberdeen LEZ.

• the LEZ area will be monitored by Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras (ANPR)
• the enforcement of the LEZ will start on 1 June 2024
• the LEZ restrictions apply also to foreign vehicles
• Only cars that meet or exceed the vehicle emission criteria are permitted to operate inside the LEZ
• The initial penalty charge is set at £60.
